Valentine’s Day thoughts….
To be safe, my wife and I exchanged last night our Valentine’s Day cards and gifts. We thought of going out to dinner, but she made Chicken Parm! Winner, winner.
I survived my Tech Connect out at GVCS where we used Google Docs, podcasting with Audacity and looked at some digital media and using zamzar.com to convert it (free file converter on-line, but you have to deal with popups). We looked at Vodcasting like Voicethreads as well.
My questions: What is the best way to go with Voicethreads now that they have the ed.voicethread.com site where teachers have to pay? I think if they do the $60 option they can get reimbursed. I’ve e-mailed them quite a few times and have had NO response!
I had teachers install the lame encoder to allow them to export Audacity podcasts as a .mp3 file, however, on 2 computers the lame encoder didn’t work!?!? Never had that happen before and have no idea, I have to look into this.
Looking for interactive 2 column math proofs for area teachers and the well is dry! I’m e-mailed, talked to others and even made 2 calls, but there seems to be nothing! I can’t believe that….my search continues.
Today, Jen and the kids will be coming up to work for lunch, after my tech coordinators meeting and data meeting. Fun day, then I have to answer these questions above and OH YEAH….prepare for my School Attuned training next week!
Some other sites I’ve found recently of interest:
http://live.yahoo.com/ (Live video from your computer, PLUS you can see others live!)
http://schellenbergmath.wikispaces.com/Review+Questions+for+Factoring+Unit (This math teacher uses a wiki to put screencasts of his lesson up on-line. This link takes you to the Smartboard lessons to review factoring that each of his kids did! Very neat!)
More to come…stay tuned.
