Google Certified Teacher
Having been new to this job (still under a year anyways) and having to learn a TON of stuff, the one thing that caught my eye was at my first conference in November (NYSCATE). One of the presenters there (Carol LaRow) was a Google Certified Teacher. I remember asking her afterwards how you obtain that title and I thought it was week-long involved process, however I saw last week the advertisement for a one-day workshop to become a Google Certified Teacher on June 25th out in Mountain View California through their Google Teacher Academy! This would be great, however, I’m also going to NECC offered by ISTE that next Sunday. Here’s the other kicker….THE DEADLINE IS TODAY! Here is the Google application if anyone wanted to fill it out and do the 1 to 2 minute video. I’m half tempted to apply and let them know that I will try for the next offering. I did e-mail them at: gteachers@gmail.com to see when the next day long workshop would be….don’t know if I’ll have time to fill out an application and try to send a video….we’ll see!

Just a little FYI. I have a busy day, the INCREDIBLE Rick Weinberg (Twitter: rickweinberg) helped work with me and a Math Teacher at Fillmore to save a .pdf into the SMART Notebook (if she had version 10 installed I don’t think it would be a problem). To get her through today, we saved the file to her computer, opened up Adobe, then clicked on the printer icon. Once there, you just change the destination of the printer to SMART Notebook Print Capture. and it will upload each page into the SMART Notebook on seperate pages…..BRILLIANT!
